Team Challenge at Kingston Park Raceway

Thanks KPR,
We had a fantastic experience in the Team Challenge at Kingston Park Raceway. The racing format with qualifying, pit stops and unfortunately for some, time penalties, black flags etc made for a very interesting and enjoyable night out. All the crew at the race track were very helpful and fair which helped to add to the experience. Cannot wait for the next time.
Cheers and thanks again will hopefully see you on the 21st July

The Triple M Tag team Challenge is a great event so if you’re looking to go karting in Brisbane and you have a few mates that like to go hard then this is the right choice for your group with competitors swapping team positions from driver, lap scorer and pit manager throughout the event. The new format is for a 3 man team which means each driver will spend more time in the kart doing laps rather than watching the race from the pits..

The race schedule will starts with all the drivers’ participating attending a drivers briefing in the Coca Cola Court Yard before entering the pit lane in preparation of the first practice session.

Once all drivers have completed practice a race briefing is conducted in the pit area and all drivers are allocated teams paper work and pit locations. Each team will move out in to pit lane and take up station in their allotted pit bay in readiness for the race.

As race time approaches you will hear a 2 minute warning bell before the first driver hops into the kart in preparation of the warm up lap. There will be a siren sounded at 1 minute to go and the senior marshal will call Drivers Start Your Engines, all karts will start and on the wave of the green flag all will leave the pits single file and parade around the circuit in 2 x 2 formation. Drivers will jostle and squirm the go karts as they attempt to warm the tyres in readiness for the race as they complete the parade lap and then it’s time for business as the karts enter on to the main straight for the first time and the pace car peels off into pit land the engines rev and the race is on.

Pit crews will quickly lean towards the pit wall to get the best vantage post and lap by lap the race is counted down with changing fortunes and various strategies at work. Remember it is a long race and all you need to do is be in front at the completion of the 100k’s

After the race a 20 minute period is available for teams to swap stories and speculate on the results and then the points are tallied and Trophies and Prizes are presented at the Triple M winner’s podium on the Coca Cola Stage

Event duration is approximately 2.5 hours with all drivers participating in the practise session before our senior marshal conducts the race briefing and then it’s off to the pit lane for final scrutineering and race preparation.
